The
coalition of the 25 January Revolution has called for a million-man
celebration on Friday in Cairo's Tahrir Square and other prominent
public spaces throughout the capital to commemorate those who lost
their lives in the 25 January uprising and celebrate the ouster of
longstanding president Hosni Mubarak.

a statement on Wednesday, the coalition also called for the immediate
release of all political prisoners, the formation of a government
cabinet consisting of technocrats, the abolition of Egypt's
longstanding Emergency Law, and the abolition of the State Security
Investigation Bureau.

The statement also called for the retrieval of all monies pilfered from the public purse by members of the former regime.

Muslim Brotherhood, meanwhile, has announced that it would participate
in the celebrations on Friday, to be dubbed the “Friday of Victory.”
